DTG (Direct To Garment) Printing

Direct-to-garment printing (DTG) is a process of printing on garments using specialized aqueous ink jet technology.

DTG printers typically have a special plate designed to hold the garment in a fixed position, and the printer inks are sprayed onto the garment by the print head.

This method usually requires for the garment to be pre-treated with a PTM or Pre-treatment machine allowing for the following:

  • Stronger bond between garment and the ink
  • Lays down loose fibers to provide for a smoother finish
  • Chemically reacts with the inks to promote drying and curing
  • A simple wash will remove the pre-treatment from the garment

No Minimum Quantity. When it comes to DTG printing, there are no minimums. This process is less time consuming compared to Screen Printing.

CYMK Colors. DTG printing allows for a full range of CYMK colors. This method is preferred when your logo or artwork has a wide range of colors or visual effects that cannot be printed through Screen Printing.
